Spotlight of the week: Gretchen Henninger

Our next spotlight shines on Gretchen Henninger who lives on the Upper East Side in New York City. Gretchen is single and an attorney. She grew-up on the New York/Canadian border (in dairy farm country). Her family had a cow, but weren’t farmers. Besides the hobbies of stamping and scrapbooking, Gretchen also enjoys golfing and miniature golf. As a New Yorker, she is a big Yankee fan and has a collection of souvenir finger nail clippers. Gretchen says she started stamping in December 2000 and quickly became addicted. She said she, “…knew about scrapbooking, but was afraid to explore it as a hobby because I knew I would become obsessed (which is exactly what happened).” Gretchen finally resisted the urge and began her first scrapbook in August 2005. She went from one storage tower to a whole room. Gretchen says she is always looking for new things to try and can't get enough magazines or idea books and enjoys browsing through online galleries. Gretchen has her own blog where she shares her expertise in a wide variety of techniques. Her favorite color is green. We’re glad you are in our swap, Gretchen, and we look forward to getting to know you better!

Question of the week: What is your favorite holiday? And why?

Since we just celebrated Easter, I thought this would be a good question for the week:

What is your favorite holiday and why?

(It's a non-scrapbooking related question--shocking, I know!)

Life has been hectic lately, so I'm a little behind in posting things on the blog!

There is one week left in March, so if you haven't already sent out your birthday themed cards, please do so ASAP!

Also, if you haven't had a chance to e-mail me your card scan/photo, please do so ASAP! (I'm planning to post the photos on Monday, the 31st.

Blog changed to Members Only Posts

Since we've had a couple of instances of unknown people posting links that lead to viruses, I've changed the blog to only allow posts/comments from members...

I've sent everyone an invitation to become a member... I used the email addresses that you provided to Melanie (the one in our spreadsheet). If you use a different email address for Google, just shoot me an email with that address and I will get that added as well.

Hopefully this will keep our blog safer!

ANOTER VIRUS!!!

Thanks to Heather for bringing this to my attention!!!

There is another virus posted by an unknown person (I think it's probably the same person that posted the previous virus, because they are listed by a similar name).

Do not open the 10th comment on last week's question of the week, "What is your favorite scrapbooking item?" It was posted by "AKINOGAL" and the link it titled "HERE". I think if you click on either the person's user name or the posting comment you will run the risk of getting a virus.

I am so sorry we are having this problem!!!

What is your favorite scrapbooking item (supply, not tool)? In other words, when you sit down to scrapbook or make cards, what is the item that you reach for first or use the most?

It's March

It's March and the official start of another month of swapping!

The theme for March is: Birthday. I'm really looking forward to this month's cards as I can ALWAYS use more birthday cards. No matter how many I make to get ahead and stock-up, it seems like I'm always out of birthday cards.

This month's birthday celebrant is Joy Baker who turns another year older on March 21. Happy birthday, Joy!

Don't forget to send a card to your personal pal, along with the other ladies that you are assigned to this month!

VIRUS WARNING!!!!!

I just encountered a virus posted on our blog and have no idea who put it there.

The virus was posted by an "AKICAGE" and is listed as the 5th comment under my "February Cards" posting. Whatever you do, do not click on this persons user name "AKICAGE" or their posting "ATTENTION". I have no idea how to remove the comment without risking getting the virus.
